Fall Fesival

Friday October 19, 2007 was fall festival night at Narcoossee Community School. The event was being sponsored by the schools PTO and headed by their president Debbie Tryzbiak. The event went off without a hitch with record attendance estimated near 1,500 people.
The kids and their parents enjoyed all of the games, rides, crafts and events including face painting, the chili cook-off contest and the gift basket raffle. Nineteen people entered the chili cook-off contest which was judged by three area fireman and one local businessman. The votes were then tallied and added to the people’s choice which then decided the final two contestants. Second place was awarded to Tim Tryzbiak, and the winner of $75 and the first place trophy went to Frank Wright. Great job by all of the contestants and hopefully we see all of the same contestants next year and some new ones.

There were about 30 baskets raffled off, each one donated by a different class from within the school. Each basket was created and designed with a special theme in mind. Some of them had a Christmas theme, others had a Halloween theme while others had themes as wild as the imagination of the children who designed them. It was a fantastic idea with great results. The children and their parents received spectacular gift baskets and all of the money went to a great cause for the Narcoossee Community PTO.
Hats off to Debbie Tryzbiak, the president of the PTO, and her staff who did a fantastic job handling and promoting the event. The fall theme presentation was apparent everywhere with scarecrows, pumpkins, skeletons and other items situated through out the campus. And yes the kids did line up the entire evening just to get a chance to throw sandbags at a target so they could see their favorite teachers take a dunk in the splash tank, including the principal Mr. Phelps.
